Philomina
Philomina is a beautiful girl,who resides at Minna.Being the first child of a family of three,she had a lot of responsibilities. The responsibility was laid on her because her mother was late and her father is a retired naval personel,who was lazy and irresponsible.
From age 18,she has been doing some odd jobs to help with the education of her siblings.The eldest son,Michael is 15,while the younger,Ezekiel is 13years. She couldn't pursue a university degree because she did not make her jamb twice,she considered herself to be dull,and since no one supported or encouraged her,she gave up on education.
She got a job at the Federal Hospital in Minna as a cleaner,she also helps with household chores in her neighbourhood for extra pay.These went on for 4 years untill she met a patient at the hospital.
Julius was being treated for typhiod and was on admission. Whenever she comes to clean his ward,he always makes remarks of how beautiful and smart she is,that she should be doing something better than cleaning.
He made her feel special,wanted and appreciated. During his one week of admission,she was always with him,he made her laugh,she thought to herself that he must really like her,he was smart,tall,dark and handsome.
Julius was a graduate from ABU Zaria(Ahmadu Bello University),he studied business administration and currently works as an administration officer 1 at the Federal University of Minna. He seemed to have everything all figured out,he told philomina that he loves her and that if she agrees to marry him,he would sponsor her education.
She felt lucky to have met a great guy like Julius.she agreed to marry him without hesitation,she moved in with him after he was discharged from the hospital.she lived with julius in his two room apartment,she was his woman in every ramifications.but then she never know any of his relatives,except two of his friends;Mohammed and Isaac. She bore two boys for him,yet none of his family member(s) showed up even at the naming ceremonies. She asked him why none of his relatives have visited,his response was 'there are all abroad,and will come visit soon'.
Julius never kept to his promise,instead of sponsoring her education,he rented a shop for her where she sold soft drinks and pure water. Anytime she talked about being officially married, he comes with excuses like;he is still saving up for the upkeep of the family or he is helping her family financially or she has two boys that he is also saving for their future, Therefore marriage was never an option. She agreed with his terms and thought to herself that trully he is trying and has done more than enough.They lived together for 6years.
One faithful day,Philomina came back from the shop around 6pm and all her belongings were outside,she gasped for breath,confused and she thought she was dreaming. She banged at the door hysterically calling on her husband and friend. He opened the door and shoke her violently,he asked her why she was disturbing the neighbourhood.she was so shocked and scared that she couldnt utter a word but to point to her luggages.
He laughed and said to her 'These are all your properties,pack them and go to you fathers house,I'm done with u,I have a new wife.I married her when i travelled to the village and she is my legal wife.I will send the monthly upkeep for my kids,but as for me and you;we're over''.
Philomina was filled with tears and she felt her whole world crumbling.she was disorientated and she sobbed bitterly,she still wants to wake up from this nightmare, when she heard a female voice coming from the room. The voice asked, 'Honey who is that?' and Julius replied ''its just one of these street beggers asking for alms''. He went in and slammed the door after him. She was shattered,she had no place to go,nobody to console her,she cried the whole night and Julius never cared.
Philomina is still in shock,still thinking that its a just dream,that she will wake up when its over. ''What a cruel world''.

ReplyDeleteUmmmmm philo.... Its a pitty it happened. But if I were u I would become a bokoharram just to teach that man a lesson. If I will scare the wife with Bomb and if posibly I lay my hand on the bomb, all of will go and settle it in heaven.
